1. What Bridgeways is for
Bridgeways is for U.S. adults age 18 and older, primarily parents whose adult child has pulled away. It can help a user speak freely about pain, slow down a hard moment, reflect on perspective, practice one possible conversation, prepare a draft, or choose a thoughtful next step.
The service does not require another person to participate. It does not make outreach the goal and does not promise contact, a reply, reconciliation, reunion, or any other outcome.
2. Practice and personal choice
You can reflect, learn, rehearse and draft at any relationship stage. Preparing words does not commit you to sending them. Decisions about delivery depend on the current situation and the people involved.
Bridgeways must not help harass, threaten, stalk, bypass a person's expressed refusal or block, or violate a protective order, court order, or other legal restriction.
3. Help Bridgeways must not provide
Bridgeways must not help a user:
- bypass an expressed refusal, block, protective order, court order, or platform restriction;
- hide or misrepresent identity, use another account or number, or recruit a third party to continue unwanted contact;
- stalk, track, surveil, locate, threaten, intimidate, coerce, harass, or harm another person;
- make violence, self-harm, retaliation, or an emergency into leverage for contact;
- diagnose another person, interpret legal rights or custody rules, or replace medical, mental health, or legal advice; or
- exploit, endanger, sexualize, or collect unnecessary identifying information about a minor.
The service may block or redirect a request even when the user disagrees with the safety classification.
4. Practice is not prediction
Roleplay can offer one possible response from another person. It cannot know that person's thoughts, motives, diagnosis, future behavior, or willingness to reconnect. Practice must remain explicitly hypothetical and must not be used to pressure the user toward contact.
A generated draft still requires your judgment before you use it. The user is responsible for reviewing it against the boundaries in force and for deciding whether to use, revise, or keep it.
5. Professional-service limits
Bridgeways is not therapy, counseling, legal advice, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, mediation, or emergency care. It cannot assess all facts or replace a qualified professional who understands the user's circumstances and local law.
The service should direct legal, medical, mental health, custody, abuse, and minor-safety questions to an appropriate qualified person rather than presenting AI output as a professional answer.
6. How automated safety controls work
Bridgeways uses deterministic checks and AI classification to identify boundary evasion, harassment, threats, self-harm, violence, medical or legal scope, and minor-safety concerns. Depending on the result, it may continue, redirect, block, or show reviewed crisis language.
Automated controls can miss context or classify a request incorrectly. They do not amount to human review, risk assessment, diagnosis, or emergency monitoring. Bridgeways stores privacy-minimized safety event metadata without the raw message body where the product contract calls for a safety record.
7. Privacy during difficult moments
Users should avoid entering unnecessary names, addresses, phone numbers, account credentials, medical records, court records, private messages, or identifying details about another person. Text and voice transcripts are intended to be purged after 90 days. User-approved memory lasts until the user revokes or deletes it. Bridgeways does not store raw microphone or generated audio.
8. AI limitations and user responsibility
AI responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or inappropriate. Users remain responsible for their choices and conduct. No Bridgeways response guarantees safety, a reply, reunion, legal compliance, emotional improvement, or any relationship outcome.
9. Review and reporting requirements
Before public payment acceptance, qualified counsel and a qualified safety reviewer must approve this guide, the static 911/988 language, prohibited-use rules, escalation paths, contact information, and incident response. Provider privacy controls and the complete hard-safety evaluation must also pass.
Open pre-launch requirement: add the reviewed safety and privacy contact method before this draft becomes public policy.
